What I was originally going to mainly comment on is your naturopath question. Sorry for the ramble I got to thinking and just kept typing lol. Maybe that’s enough for her to be here? But then should discussion be limited to that as opposed to her faking an actual illness (a la CZ and Ren)? Not sure.Īnyway. I get the whole Ed thing and I absolutely agree with you that presenting shit info along with exaggerating the severity of her CF (and now the “dr” addition with a massive eye roll) is super fucked up. The initial post I saw on her didn’t have a timeline of screenshots that I could find (just one of her Halloween costume and a link to her website) so I’m honestly not so sure yet how I feel about her being here. Pancreatitis can be a massive bitch digestive wise so.I dunno. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this research!! I’m actually fairly surprised that the actual gene data lines up with what she claims (ie mostly pancreatic involvement with less lung). She could just be honest about having an atypical presentation.īesides, 6 months ago she was gonna finish undergrad and do a masters in nursing and now she's an ND? And a nutritionist? And she's 22? Just how badly trained are NDs? Is this plausible? She's not out ice skating because of naturopathy, it's because she has a more minor mutation. Nope, she's unlucky to have this mutation but compared with others with CF she is extremely lucky. I think what annoys me about this is that there's all this raw vegan herbal nonsense to make out like that's why she's relatively well. But she definitely seems to be making out like she has full blown cystic fibrosis. Perhaps relatively mild lung disease, although she's claimed some pretty nasty bacteria including B cepacia which if she has been diagnosed with that there are pulmonologists who must think she has CF (it has to be specifically tested for).Ītypical mutations can definitely present late and with more gut less lung symptoms. Maybe the kernel of truth is that she has chronic pancreatitis, has this genetic mutation of uncertain significance and is milking it. Chronic pancreatitis seems to have been a constant thread with her rather than e.g. She could totally have two mutations but then why not say homozygous 1584G>A. It's a mutation in the cystic fibrosis gene suspected to cause chronic pancreatitis but which doesn't usually cause lung problems and isn't thought to cause CF. If I'm understanding correctly these are both the same mutation, AKA 1716G/A. There is p.glu528glu also which fits best with her statement of 528GLU. I checked in the CFTR2 database (includes rare mutations, covers 97% of CF) and there is no 1548G>A but there is 1584G>A so I assume that's a typo. She said in a comment that she has "1548G>A and 528GLU". Using the title "Dr" is such a big stretch maybe she really does have EDS. If she really did get an "ND" from "Indiana" this is (at best guess) probably it. "Important: This doctorate curriculum does not prepare or authorize graduates to diagnose or treat disease but to educate and counsel individuals or groups in natural health.ĭoctors of Traditional Naturopathy are teachers." The FAQs include an unconvincing explanation of how they are not a diploma mill and the ND comes with the following disclaimer: Also you can earn 25 clinical hours by purchasing a DVD. So that leaves New Eden School Of Natural Health And Herbal Studies, a faith-based (unaccredited) educational institution offering a DOCTOR OF TRADITIONAL NATUROPATHY which takes only 120 credit hours to achieve and despite being a "doctorate" doesn't require a bachelor's degree. Trinity mentioned above, but they stopped calling it an "ND" because it was confusing and not a qualification that allowed you to be a licensed MD. Two institutions come up offering naturopathy. For her ND she says she went to "Indiana".
